For the Apple Cider Mix
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Feel free to use coconut sugar for a lower glycemic index
  • 2 tablespoons apple pie spice Or make your own with equal parts cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice
  • 1 cup apple juice or cider Opt for fresh-pressed for the best flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and apple pie spice until fully combined.
  2. Transfer the spiced sugar mix to an airtight container for storage.
Serving
  1. To serve a single hot apple cider, heat 1 cup of apple juice or cider until steaming and stir in 1 tablespoon of the apple cider mix until fully dissolved.
  2. For a larger batch, heat 1 quart of apple juice or cider and stir in 1/4 cup of the apple cider mix until dissolved.
Storage
  1. Store the spiced sugar mix in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

Notes

For best results, choose high-quality spices and sugar. Store in a dark cupboard away from sunlight. If clumping occurs, break it up with a fork.
