  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar Can substitute with lime juice.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Agave syrup can be used for vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil Use toasted sesame oil for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger Fresh is preferred, dried can work in a pinch.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic will provide best aroma.
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional, for added heat.
For Consistency
  • ¼ cup coconut milk Use water for a thinner sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha or chili paste Optional, for spiciness.
For Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon chopped peanuts Optional, for crunch.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro Optional, for freshness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine the peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar (or lime juice), honey (or brown sugar), sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.
  2. Slowly add the coconut milk (or water) while whisking until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Taste and adjust the sauce, adding more lime or honey as desired.
  4. For heat, stir in Sriracha or chili paste.
  5. Serve immediately and garnish with peanuts and cilantro if desired.
Storage
  1. Transfer leftovers to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to a week.

Notes

For the best flavor, use room temperature ingredients to prevent lumps. This sauce can be served warm or cold and pairs well with various dishes.
