Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and half of the cheese until well combined. Season with a generous pinch of salt and a dash of pepper; stir until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the chicken mixture evenly across the bottom.
  4. Top this layer with frozen tater tots, arranged in a single layer for that perfect crunch.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining cheese and the chopped bacon generously over the tater tots.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is melty and bubbling.
  7. Optional: Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
