  • 3 quarts 3 quarts (12 cups) apple juice Aim for 100% pure apple juice without added sugars or preservatives.
  • 3/4 cup 3/4 cup homemade apple cider mix Mix should include ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and other warm spices.

  1. Begin by selecting a good-quality Crock Pot or slow cooker with at least a 5-quart capacity.
  2. Pour 3 quarts (12 cups) of pure apple juice into the bowl of your Crock Pot.
  3. Sprinkle the 3/4 cup of your homemade apple cider mix into the apple juice and stir until fully combined.
  4. Cover the Crock Pot with its lid and set it to cook on low for approximately 2 hours.
  5. After the cooking time, stir well and taste. Adjust sweetness or spice levels as desired.
  6. Serve warm, optionally garnished with a cinnamon stick or thin apple slices.

Notes

Cider can be prepared in advance and kept on low for an extra hour or two. Ensure to cool cider completely before refrigerating for up to a week or freezing for up to three months.
