Preparation
- In a bowl, whisk together the chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and the juice of 1 lime until well combined.
- Let the steak marinate for at least 20 minutes, or longer for more flavor.
- Chop the avocados, tomato, red onion, and jalapeno into small pieces and combine in another bowl with cilantro, juice from the second lime, and the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Season to taste.
Cooking
- Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and oil the grates.
- Remove steak from marinade and grill for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds per side until pliable.
- After grilling, let steak rest for 5 minutes, slice thinly against the grain, and fill each tortilla with steak slices and avocado salsa.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored separately in airtight containers. The steak lasts up to 2 days, while the salsa will stay fresh for up to 3 days.
