Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil Leaves, washed and dried thoroughly Choose vibrant, dark green leaves for more intense flavor.
  • 1 cup Coarse Sea Salt Opt for a coarse texture to enhance flavor absorption.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the fresh basil leaves to prevent moisture from affecting the final product.
  2. In a food processor, combine the dried basil leaves with the coarse sea salt. Pulse until the basil is finely chopped and well-blended with the salt. You’ll know it’s ready when the mixture is a vibrant green.
  3. Spread the basil salt mixture onto a baking sheet in an even layer. Allow it to air dry for about 30 minutes or until completely dry.
  4. Transfer the dried basil salt into an airtight container and store it in a cool, dark place.

Notes

For a healthier option, mix in other dried herbs like rosemary or thyme. To maintain its flavor, avoid moisture when storing. Use less salt and add garlic powder for a lower-sodium alternative.
