Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs Use freshly crushed graham crackers for the best texture.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Adds sweetness to the crust.

For the filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Use full-fat for the richest flavor.
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk Adds sweetness and creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup key lime juice Freshly squeezed is best.
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest Enhances lime flavor.
For the whipped cream
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream Use cold for better whipping results.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Helps sweeten the whipped cream.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds depth to the whipped cream.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until well coated. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Slowly add the sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest. Beat until creamy and well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
Layering
  1. In a trifle dish or individual glasses, layer one-third of the graham cracker mixture at the bottom, followed by half of the lime filling, and top with whipped cream. Repeat layers and finish with whipped cream.
  2. Garnish with lime zest and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Make sure your cream cheese is softened. Don’t skip the chilling step; it enhances the flavors.
