Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 strips bacon (cut into bite-size pieces) Choose thick-cut bacon for extra flavor, like Smithfield or Oscar Mayer.
  • 4 cloves garlic (finely chopped) Fresh garlic makes a world of difference! For convenience, use pre-minced garlic.
  • 5.291 ounces long beans (cut into one-inch long pieces) Look for firm and vibrant beans. You can substitute with green beans, but the texture will differ slightly.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce For a gluten-free option, use tamari. For a lower-sodium option, try a low-sodium soy sauce.

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat your wok over medium heat until it's hot enough to sear the bacon.
  2. Add the bacon pieces and fry until they start to brown and have rendered their fat for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the bacon is browned, add in the chopped garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the cut long beans into the wok and stir-fry for about 2–3 minutes, until vibrant and slightly tender.
  5. Drizzle in the soy sauce and stir everything together, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot, optionally with rice or noodles.
