Ingredients

Key Ingredients
  • 10 cups Chopped Plums About 4 lbs. of ripe, juicy plums.
  • 5 cups Sugar Adjustable based on preference.
  • Optional Add-Ins: Chia seeds or monk fruit sweetener For alternative sweetness and texture.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and pit the plums, then chop them into small pieces and let them sit for 30 minutes to release their juices.
Mixing
  1. In a heavy-bottomed pot or Instant Pot, pour in the chopped plums and the measured sugar. Stir until well combined and let sit for a while.
Cooking
  1. For stovetop, cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture reaches a rolling boil (about 10-15 minutes).
  2. For Instant Pot, set to manual for 5 minutes and allow natural pressure release afterward.
Finishing Touch
  1. Check the consistency of the jam using the spoon drip test; it should coat the back of the spoon.
  2. Once cooled, transfer the jam into sterilized jars and seal while warm.

Notes

To enhance nutritional content, consider using monk fruit instead of refined sugar and adding chia seeds for fiber. Store jars in a cool, dark place for long shelf life.
