Ingredients

For the Strawberry Sauce
  • 5 pieces Fresh Strawberries Use ripe, juicy strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar Adjust based on your sweetness preference; honey or agave syrup works too.
For the Latte
  • 1 teaspoon Hojicha Powder Look for a high-quality, ceremonial-grade hojicha for an unmatched taste.
  • 1/4 cup Warm Water This helps dissolve the hojicha powder properly.
  • 2/3 cup Almond Milk Unsweetened is preferable but feel free to use your favorite dairy or plant-based milk variant.
  • Ice To chill your drink to perfection.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small container, add 5 fresh strawberries and 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar. Using a muddler, gently mash the strawberries until the sugar is dissolved and you have a nice sauce.
  2. In a small bowl, add 1 teaspoon of hojicha powder. Pour in 1/4 cup of warm water. Whisk vigorously using a bamboo whisk for about 1-2 minutes until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Grab your favorite glass and pour in the strawberry sauce, spreading it across the bottom. Add ice cubes to the glass, filling it generously.
  2. Slowly pour in 2/3 cup of almond milk, leaving a bit of space at the top for the hojicha.
  3. Gently pour the dissolved hojicha over the milk and ice. Stir lightly to enjoy.

Notes

For the best flavor, ensure that your strawberries are ripe. If you want it sweeter, feel free to adjust the sugar level before serving. You can pre-make the strawberry sauce a day in advance and store it in the fridge.
