Preparation
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and your choice of herbs.
- Heat a heavy-bottomed cast iron skillet over medium heat. Add a splash of olive oil.
- Sear the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden brown.
Cooking
- In the same skillet, add the bacon strips and cook until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove bacon and place it on a paper towel to drain excess fat.
- Lightly toast the bun halves in the skillet until they are golden brown and slightly crisp.
- Generously spread the creamy garlic-herb mixture on the toasted sides of the bun.
Assembly
- Layer the chicken, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and pickles in that order on the bottom half of the bun.
- Place the top bun on your stack, press down gently, and enjoy!
Notes
Consider serving with sweet potato fries or a light salad. Pair with iced tea or a light lager for a refreshing experience. For extra flavor, marinate chicken in garlic, lemon, and herbs for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
